A Grand Beginning

So I’m starting a new blog project. Those of you who know me personally perhaps remember that I’ve done this kind of thing before, and that consistency has never been my strong point. Well, you would be correct. But perhaps things will be different this time. Why? For one thing, Salon Auteur is not a solo project. It is a collection of friends conversing together for mutual enjoyment of the topic of writing. For another thing, this blog is only the public face of Salon Auteur, and as it is not my only engagement with the project, it will be much harder to set aside and forget about.

The fact of the matter is that it is about time that I became a serious writer. I’ve been working in marketing for several years—I know blogs. I know web design. I know social media. Why shouldn’t I put those skills to use on a topic that I am intensely interested in? One that I am intimately engaged in? You see, I’ve been writing stories since I was ten years old, and I think the last time I finished one was when I was twelve. That’s a rather unacceptable rate of success for something I’ve been doing half my life.

So expect to see more here. I’m committing to regular updates twice a week—Monday and Thursday. At the start, you’ll be hearing a lot of me, K.R., but soon I hope you will see contributions from other members of the Salon. Here’s to the future. Here’s to Words.
